Now Here We Are

Written on  MAY 15, 2015

These past few weeks have made me think a lot about life. Life as we knew and life as we know now. I have to say that my greatest achievement is my FAITH and STRENGTH in God. I never realized how BLESSED we truly are.

It was about a year ago when we learned of Matthew’s diagnosis. I was barely 5 months pregnant with him and his twin sister. As Matthew’s kidneys got worse and worse and he lost more and more amniotic fluid around him, it got harder and harder to see him in the weekly ultrasounds we had to monitor the pregnancy. All I wanted was to see his face. There were days that were harder than others. There were days that I just couldn’t help but be grateful for our circumstance… because no matter what happened, I could honestly say, “I had a son.”

I remember being reminded about God’s Promise. “Blessed is she who BELIEVED, for there will be fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.” (Luke 1:45 NKJV) I held on SO tight to this verse. And though there were days that I had to literally convince myself it was all going to be okay… I KNEW God was going to fulfill His Promise to me. A beautiful boy. Callia was an added gift. She helped save Matthew in the last weeks of pregnancy. She was a hero before she was even born.

Now here we are today… they’re both learning to crawl, learning to talk… growing and thriving. Matthew has surpassed ALL of doctor’s expectations. We run into nurses and doctor’s who knew us before they were born and who were there on the day they were born. From respiratory failure, heart failure and kidney failure… here he is. Here THEY are. I am one proud mama.

The Lord has blessed us with an opportunity to share God’s miracles. And an opportunity to show the world how powerful prayer can be. I am thankful. I am grateful. I am blessed.

To God Be The Glory.
